Social Media Infographics

I recently learnt about Infographics in e-marketing course and I must admit, the subject got me from the word Hello and Infographics is now sitting as one of my top ten best Digital Marketing strategies.

download   Well I’m glad you asked!

Infographics are graphic visual representations of information, data or knowledge created with the intention of presenting complex information quickly and clearly.

A well-designed infographic like the one I created for Hello Computer based on the data they presented to me on South Africans Social Media is an example of how infographics can help you simplify a complicated subject into a captivating experience.South African Social Media Landscape

Adding interactive content like infographics to your website can be one of the most effective strategies in an overall digital marketing campaign.

Ideally, an infographic should be visually engaging, contain a subject matter that is appealing to your target audience, and be supported by other engaging content across your website and social channels.

If Hello Computer uses this Infographic data well, they can consistently achieve higher engagement rates and search visibility. Hello Computer can also use this Infographic Data in order to:

  • Conduct Market Research
  • Stay on top of the Digital Marketing World
  • Focus marketing strategies on the tactics that are more popular
  • Prepare for emerging Social Media tactics
  • Visually and quickly explain the data
  • Going viral-positive brand awareness

Advantages of Infographics

  1. It is much easier and quicker to understand. You can convey a message in only a few seconds, in comparison with a text that you will need some minutes. Scientist found that people can remember the 83% of what they see, and only the 20% of what they read!
  2. Boost marketing leads. It supports inbound marketing and no manual customer acquisition is required.
  3. Boost traffic. If the content of your infographic is high quality, then it is almost certain that not only it will drive traffic, but it will boost your company’s expertise/authority.

Disadvantages of Infographics

  1. Time Consuming. In order to achieve a very good Infographic, your designer needs to spend some creating the right
  2. Not SEO Friendly. This is not necessarily a bad thing, but it will not boost your website from SEO perspective.
  3. Might get costly. Since a lot of time is required to create it, you will have to pay a lot for it!
  4. Will it be valuable? Creating an infographic is one thing, promoting is a different one. You need to make sure to promote it, else you will spend your money for nothing

Five key questions to ask when creating infographics and a DM Strategy:

  • Who are you?
  • What are you offering?
  • To whom are you offering?
  • Why are you offering?
  • How are you offering?

Five key steps to follow when creating infographics and a DM Strategy:

I hope all the information on infographics including the steps and questions will help you create many more Infographics and will help on creating social media  strategies for Hello Computer.

Lastly and most importantly, I hope you will enjoy creating more Inforgraphics as much as i have creating one for Hello Computers.

My Digital Footprint

digital footprint (1)

The Journey

I am big on sustainability so I’m familiar with terms such as “Reducing Carbon Footprint” but I had never really sat down and analysed how what “Digital footprint” was, how mine looked like and how it speaks for me without my physical presence.

I had never analysed how that one Facebook question ’’What’s on your mind?” I answered five years ago has the potential to be a final deciding factor to make or break my future ten years down the line.

Digital Footprint?

For those not yet familiar with the term Digital Footprint, what it basically means is all the information that comes up about you if, for example, someone Google’s your name, it’s a trace left behind.

It can be news about how you were on the Deans Merit list during your varsity years 15 years ago or pictures that you got tagged in when you were drunk and half naked at a party after that final hard exam. What about the posts you made trying to act all cool talking about how you going parting every weekend and forgetting what image that will send out to you potential employer. The #ThrowBackThursayPictures #TGF #HangoOverMondays, remember those?

My Results!

Lucky enough I cleaned up my territory last year, deleted all my crazy pictures and some old posts so when I conducted my Google search I was not as nervous.

After typing my name and surname I was so surprised by the number of people who shared the same name as mine. My search results were quite boring though, the only few things I found about myself were:

Now What?

Based on what I am being taught in my E-Marketing Course, good self-branding is very important

I felt I should have at least found articles to give me competitive advantage like the social development projects I contributed to, International Sports Competitions I participated in and won, Previous Leadership Roles and demonstrations of how entrepreneurial and business minded I am.

I strongly suggest the following, what do you think?

  • Treating, respecting and carrying myself as a valuable brand.
  • Be careful of what I say and do on and off digital platforms.
  • Use social networks to follow and interact with powerful influential people and companies that can potentially employ me and help in self-development and growth.
  • Post on current affairs and issues to my interests.
  • Be consistent on all platforms on the image I portray. I will not post inappropriate posts and pictures on Facebook and be professional on Twitter.
  • Use professional contact details, currently my email address has a wrong ring to it.
  • Utilize privacy controls on social media channels.
  • Blog, Tweet, LinkedIn, Post YouTube Videos and participative on the digital platform.

Global Warming Expert: Unless Habits Change, Northeast Will Feel Like Deep South

CBS New York

ITACHA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork)Global warming will turn the Northeast into the new South if people continue to ignore the crisis, an expert warns.

Mike Hoffmann, head of Cornell University’s Agricultural Experiment Station, told WCBS 880 Connecticut Bureau Chief Fran Schneidau that while most people say they are aware of global warming, not many are changing habits to stem the tide.

Temperatures in the Northeast will feel more like they do in the Deep South before the end of the century, Hoffmann said.

“As the conditions warm — and we’ve already seen this — we’re going to have new pests that can survive because of warmer winters,” he said.

Some of those pests may carry diseases harmful to humans.

Hoffmann said there are things each of us can do.

“There’s the…

The Wash-House at Bazincourt
1900 PDR1323
Musée d’Orsay, Paris

The Musée d’Orsay recently opened a mini-exhibition of Camille Pissarro landscapes and drawings in Chamber 69 on the second floor just above the sculptures.

The room includes four oil paintings and six small gauches, watercolors and drawings.  Three of the paintings are seldom seen in Pissarro exhibitions. These works combined with the nearly 20 paintings hanging in the Impressionist gallery provide a wealth of Pissarro works on view.

Most outstanding of the paintings is a large masterwork depicting the Lavoir of Bazincourt. Bazincourt, a small village across the Epte River from Eragny, is seen in many of Pissarro’s later paintings. This painting is breathtakingly beautiful in person. Photographs are a very poor reflection of the painting’s luminosity.

Pissarro made this painting in 1900 during a midsummer day. The trees are full of leaves, a rich bright…
